PTS Corp now has even more ways to improve supply chains and enhance operational logistics through Just-In-Time (JIT) and Kitting, a supply chain system that minimizes inventory and increases efficiency.
It accomplishes this by simplifying materials and parts to help save space and reduce overhead throughout manufacturing. By accommodating some of our newer clients’ needs and our enthusiasm for finding new and better solutions, we have greatly improved our kitting capabilities and JIT offerings.
In its current configuration, PTS Corp kitting operation has a 5000 sq. ft. footprint that is easily expandable as volume requirements grow and two dedicated kitting lines with gravity feed flow racks to help maximize space and efficiency. The gravity feed flow racks use the FIFO (first-in, first-out) method of moving inventory using gravitational forces to help workers find and move stock easier. The system now includes multiple wireless scanners and automated taping machines to allow for an effortless process with a capacity for up to 3200 kits per day (up from 800) within our current footprint. This approach is as flexible as it is productive and can adapt to multiple kit form factors and bills of materials (BOM).
